The Providence of God
Providence is God’s faithful and effective care and guidance of everything which He has made toward the end which He has chosen.
One of the best examples in the Bible of God’s Providence is when we study the life and ministry of Jesus.
The religious rulers abused Jesus and murdered Him by getting the Romans to crucify Jesus on a cross.
But in the Providence of God – the Crucifixion of Jesus turned out to be God’s plan from the beginning! This is how God provided for the payment for your sins!
✅ In the Providence of God: it was God’s plan from the beginning, for Jesus to be crucified for you!
“All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
(Revelation 13:8)
✅ Another great example in the Bible is Joseph
In the Providence of God:
it was God’s plan from the beginning, for Joseph to be in Egypt.
Joseph was sold by his brothers into slavery in Egypt.
But over the years, Joseph got promoted to the #2 position in the leading world power of the time: Egypt.
Joseph recognized that God used his position to bring about the saving of his entire family. Joseph saw this as THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD!
Joseph said:
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
(Genesis 50:20)
In the Providence of God – this is not only how the lives of the Israelites would be saved…
But this is also how the lineage of the Messiah would stay intact!
✅ The Bible teaches us about the Providence of God
Romans 8:28 says – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
✅ The Apostle Paul knew and experienced the Providence of God
Paul wrote in Philippians 1:12-14
12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel,
13 so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ;
14 and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
Paul knew that:
#1 – He was the Apostle to the Gentiles
#2 – The center of the Gentile world at that time was Rome
#3 – Through his Roman imprisonment, it provided many opportunities for Paul to preach the Gospel to the Roman soldiers
#4 – Paul knew this was THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD!
✅ God’s Providence in your life
