Johnny Zacchio is Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Grace and Truth in Yonkers, New York.

Johnny grew up in Yonkers, New York.

He came from a broken home and toxic environment, where his parents got divorced when Johnny was very young.

His step father was an alcoholic and abusive. So Johnny ended up growing up with verbal, mental and emotional abuse.

Things got so bad that he even thought about killing his step father.

Now after the Lord saved Johnny, he was able to pray for his step father and share the Gospel message with him.

✅ HOW DID THE LORD HELP YOU TO FORGIVE YOUR STEP FATHER?

A pastor told Johnny, “God is so powerful that He can make you even love your enemies.”

This made Johnny take some steps back and away from God at that time.

Johnny didn’t want to love or forgive his step father.

Where he used to weep that his step father would die, now he weeps that he might live and come to know Christ.

✅ TELL US ABOUT FORGIVENESS IN MARRIAGE IN FAMILY

A healthy marriage is comprised of two forgivers.

If people aren’t wiling to allow the Lord to soften their hearts and to forgive one another, it’ll destroy a marriage.

It’ll destroy a family.

It can even lead to divorce.

✅ WHAT WOULD YOU TELL CHRISTIANS THAT ARE REALLY STRUGGLING TO FORGIVE OTHERS?

Think about how Christ has forgiven us.

God enables us and empowers us to do that which He calls us to do.

Never go to bed angry.

Allow the Lord to change your heart.

✅ WHAT ARE SOME POSITIVE THINGS THAT OCCUR WHEN WE’VE FORGIVEN OTHERS?

We have peace. We have joy. We have a clean conscience.

We have the peace of God.

You’re not plagued by condemnation by the enemy.

✅ ANYTHING ELSE TO TELL US?

We’re living in the last days.

The enemy loves to bring division.

The blessing is when the brethren are dwelling together in unity (Psalm 133:1).

Guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

One of the tactics the enemy will use to divide us is unforgiveness, bitterness and holding a grudge.
