When Peter denies Jesus, there are at least 4 problems found prior to his fall.
These 4 factors become problematic in the life of every Christian as well, if we don’t keep them in check.
It was prophesied that all would fall away from Jesus Messiah, and that Jesus would have to endure the punishment to pay for our sins alone.
But, sadly, these 4 things made it inevitable that Peter denies Jesus.
PETER’S 4 PROBLEMS:
- Problem #1 – Peter’s Pride (Proverbs 16:18; 1 Corinthians 10:12)
- Problem #2 – Peter Should’ve Prayed
- Problem #3 – Peter Followed From Far
- Problem #4 – Peter was with the Wrong Crowd
Peter’s problems, as well as his solutions, point out our simple solutions as well:
- Solution #1 – Be HUMBLE and trust in God’s Words!
- Solution #2 – Continue steadfastly in PRAYER (Acts 2:42; Luke 18:1)
- Solution #3 – FOLLOW Jesus closely (Luke 10:38-42)
- Solution #4 – FELLOWSHIP closely with Christ and the body of Christ that you serve with (2 Timothy 2:22)
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine, and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
Perhaps you feel like Peter? Wherever you are in your walk with Jesus Christ, what Peter needed, you may need as well. If this is you:
- #1 – You need a Renewed call of Jesus Christ in your life.
- #2 – You need a Restoration of your relationship with Jesus Christ.
- #3 – You need the Empowerment of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8)
