God gives us His promises, and as Christians, we are His children.

Because of having God’s promises, He tells His children who have drifted away to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit.”

Like the Prodigal son who “came to himself” in Luke 15, we must come to our senses, humble ourselves, get up out of our sin, come back to the Heavenly Father and confess our sins to Him
