When Jesus Goes Fishing
We often hear of the story when Jesus helped Peter to catch a lot of fish. But, what was this about, and what was the bigger plan of Jesus? Jesus was actually fishing for followers. His targets to catch? Peter, Andrew, James and John. This is the story of when Jesus caught them. Listen to hear the story of when Jesus goes fishing for His followers.
Will you allow Jesus to catch you? Or, will you remain elusive and try to avoid His net?
We must also realize, that the devil is trying desperately to lure away Christ followers from His flock. Once you begin the journey to start following Jesus, you now become a bigger target and a prized catch for the devil. You now are on the devil’s radar, because you have changed lordship; for, you see, the devil and the world is no longer your lord, but Jesus is now your Lord. Be on guard as you build with God, and be very careful with this. As Jesus said, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).
If you once walked closely with Jesus Christ and the body of Christ, but have since taken the devil’s bait, gotten hooked, and find yourself caught up in a tangled world of pain and confusion, you have only one way out. You need to repent and come back to Jesus Christ. (many are lured away by the allure of money, business success, personal achievement, sexual immorality, bad/wrong relationships, drugs and alcohol or all of the above) Peter strayed, but later repented and Jesus restored him (see John 21). It’s not too late, but you must come back to Christ and get out of your sin.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, you need to know that God still loves you (John 3:16). Jesus died as the sacrifice for your sins and rose from the dead. You need to have a radical change of heart and mind, and repent away from your sins and come back to following Jesus Christ in the body of Christ!
