Serving God in His Church

Have you ever wondered if God wants you to serve in your local church? The Bible gives us a clear answer in Galatians 6:9-10. It encourages us to keep doing good and helping others, especially those in God’s family—the church.

Galatians 6:9-10 tells us not to get tired of doing good. Sometimes, it might feel like when you serve in church that it doesn’t make a difference.

Maybe you helped setup or clean up after a church event? Or you encouraged a friend at church, but you feel like nobody noticed or maybe you felt rejected? But God promises that if we keep serving faithfully, we will see good results in His perfect timing.

These verses also remind us to take every opportunity to do good to everyone, but especially to those who are Christians in God’s House. This means that a local gathering of a church is a special and unique place where we can show the love of Christ by serving others. When you volunteer to help in Children’s Church, in Facilities, in Music Ministry, or even just encouraging and praying for others, you are serving God.

Serving in God’s church is not just about doing chores—it’s about showing the love of Jesus to others. This is one of the important ways that every Christian needs in order to really grow. Jesus taught us and used Himself as an example of how to love one another. And serving in your local church is one of the easiest and best ways to do that. When we serve, we become an active member in the body of Christ, as we each build one another up and grow in grace, love and faith together.

So remember, don’t give up if serving feels hard or even if you feel that people reject you. Keep helping and loving others in church because God sees your heart, and you’re serving Jesus as the Lord of your life. God will reward you. Your small acts of kindness are large in God’s sight and makes a difference in God’s kingdom.
